How to Know Your Eternity In Heaven is Secure

1. You Can Know for Sure If Your Eternity in Heaven Is Secure.

"These things have I written unto you that . . . that ye may know that ye have eternal life . . ." 1 John 5:13

2. God Loves You and Desires to Be with You in Heaven One Day.

"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." John 3:16

3. Because God Is Infinitely Holy, Pure, and Righteous Our Sin Prevents That Eternal Fellowship with Him — All Have Sinned.

"But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear." Isaiah 59:2

"As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:" Romans 3:10

"For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;" Romans 3:23

4. Because God Is Infinitely Just, There Is a Just Penalty for Sin.

"For the wages of sin is death;" Romans 6:23a

"And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:" Hebrews 9:27

"And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death." Revelation 20:14

"But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death." Revelation 21:8

5. There Is Absolutely Nothing We Can Do to Satisfy the Penalty for Sin.

"Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight:" Romans 3:20a

". . . for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified." Galatians 2:16b

"For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast." Ephesians 2:8-9

"Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us." Titus 3:5a

6. Jesus Christ (Our Savior) Is God

"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made." (also Isaiah 9:6, Matthew 1:23, John 20:28, Romans 9:5, etc.) John 1:1-3

"And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth." John 1:14

". . .God was manifest in the flesh, . . preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory." 1 Timothy 3:16b

7. Jesus Christ, God the Son, Shed His Blood and Died on the Cross to Pay Your Sin Debt in Full So That You May Be Justly Forgiven.

"For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly." Romans 5:6

"But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him." Romans 5:8-9

"For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:" 1 Corinthians 15:3-4

8. God Loves You and Offers You His Gift of Salvation and Eternal Life in Heaven as a Gift That Was Paid for by Jesus Christ.

". . . the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." Romans 6:23b

"For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him." 2 Corinthians 5:21

"In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;" Ephesians 1:7

"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed on the name of the only begotten Son of God." John 3:16-18

9. By Believing God's Promise of the Gift of Eternal Life and by Believing (Trusting) in the Person and Work of Jesus Christ Alone for Your Salvation, You Shall Be Saved!

"For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation." Romans 10:10

10. A Simple Heartfelt Expression to God

In the best way you know how, you can express to God the belief you now have. Something like, "Oh God, I know I am a sinner. I believe Jesus Christ, God the Son, was my substitute when He died on the cross for my sins. I am no longer depending on anything but the finished work of Jesus Christ to give me eternal life. I believe His shed blood, death, burial, and resurrection were for me. I now receive Jesus Christ as my personal Savior. Thank you for your merciful love and grace, the forgiveness of my sins, the gift of salvation and everlasting life. Amen." [Note: Words and/or prayers do not save you, only Jesus saves. God sees your heart.]

11. The Summary and Conclusion of the Matter

Jesus Christ, being fully God and fully man, laid down His infinite and eternal glory, humbled Himself and took on human flesh, and was born of a virgin; He lived a perfect life and never sinned; He gave His life on the cross of Calvary, shedding His blood for the remission of all our sins, all of them, past, present, and future; He died and rose again on the third day. This being your heartfelt belief and trusting in Christ alone for salvation, the Bible, the very Word of God, declares that you are saved, sanctified, sealed, redeemed, rapture ready, and heaven bound! Though our sins prevented us from coming to God, our sins never prevented God from coming to us with the gift of His Son to save us from the consequence of all our sins. God's abundant grace flows out freely to all who believe!

12. Eternal Security — You Can Never Lose Your Salvation

"Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life." John 6:47

"And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. 29 My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand." John 10:28-29

"For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, 39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord." Romans 8:38-39

"These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that you may believe on the name of the Son of God." 1 John 5:13
